Shake Rag Concerts

Some of the region’s finest musicians performed at our weekly Coffee Talk. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Doris Nabors and June Beverly, Coffee Talk has brought music to the community of Melrose for over a decade.

Coffee Talk, now SHAKE RAG CONCERT SERIES, is presented by Common Thread and Shake Rag Productions, Non-Profit community music programs.

December 2022

December 1, 2022 –Nicole Wagner – Nicole Andre’ Wagner is a local musician and accomplished bassist performing for over 30 years with many bands and well known musicians. As a solo artist, Nicole blends baselines with soulful vocals in an eclectic repertoire from blues to 60s rock tunes.

December 8, 2022 – Dim Lights – Dim Lights is a group of three local musicians playing lively down-home music. Ned Stewart, on guitar, has a fabulous voice and picking style. He puts both to work singing songs of Jessie Winchester, Claire Lynch John Anderson, and Merle Haggard, to name a few. Karan Newman, on mandolin, adds harmony to Ned’s songs and fills in with a few vocals of her own. Tim Stevens sings harmony and a few songs of his own while providing a rhythmic beat with the upright bass. You’re sure to enjoy this trio with their nice blend of Americana, country, lively bluegrass, and old-time songs and instrumentals.

December 15, 2022 – Harri Buffalo is a mythical beauty beast that travels the sound waves. When Bill and Lee get together they like to ride her all around and out of this world. She’s environmentally friendly, and sounds fine. To be one with the positive vibrations of our naturally creative existence inspires and motivates us. We recently
teamed up with poet Monte Flinchum to create two songs you can listen to here, “Dark Purple Summer Night” and “Raining in My Soul”. Lee Pinkerson is our singer, songwriter and guitarist. Bill Snyder provides the bow and beat on his acoustic bass fiddle. He also rounds out the sound with some harmony vocals. http://www.reverbnation.com/harribuffalo
